Primavera Progress Update

Next Lesson

Summary:

In this lesson, we will add sample progress to our Progress Measurement System (PMS) template and create a progress import template. This will help us efficiently transform the PMS data into an exported Primavera spreadsheet. The goal is to filter and update the data for at least two months and prepare it for exporting. We will focus on activities from November 1st to November 30th and capture progress updates for this period.

Key Points:

  1. Objective:

    • Add sample progress data to the PMS template.
    • Create a Progress Import Template to efficiently transfer data from Excel to Primavera.
  2. Requirements:

    • The lesson builds upon the previously created PMS template.
  3. Step-by-Step Process:

    • Filter Activities: Filter the Excel table to show activities for at least 2 months, minimizing the displayed data. This step helps focus the progress update on key activities.
    • Set Progress Report Cutoff Date: For this update, we’ll capture progress from November 1st to November 30th. The cutoff date for progress reporting is the end of each month.
    • Update Progress: Once the activities are filtered, we will update the progress achieved during this period and prepare the data for export to Primavera.
  4. Why This Matters:

    • Creating a clear and organized method for importing and updating progress ensures that your PMS template stays aligned with the baseline schedule and helps track project progress more efficiently.
